Stubborn tendon issues? Tried everything? Read on …

Is that heel, shoulder, elbow or Achilles not responding to treatment?

You may think that most of our treatments work to reduce inflammation, in other words, they’re anti-inflammatory. But, with some stubborn problems, we actually go the other way, employing pro-inflammatory shockwave therapy.

This area of our work is called tendinopathy, the treatment of tendons, which are generally more resistant to healing than muscles. Shockwave is used alongside physio and soft tissue work to stimulate the healing process, to reignite it, if you like, in a controlled way.

Golfers with golfer’s elbow, tennis players with tennis elbow, runners with sore heels, Achilles tendons or plantar fasciitis, anyone with stubborn shoulder pain – all of you can benefit from shockwave.

Unlike in many clinics, shockwave comes at no extra cost at Grosvenor.

Shockwave increases the blood circulation and metabolism within the injured area, promoting the influx of vital nutrients to boost the healing process. You can expect to receive 4-6 treatments, with the improvement in the tissues continuing beyond your last shockwave session. It is important to continue your rehabilitation to gain maximum benefit.

If you have an injury that does not seem to be responding to your normal routine of rest, ice, compression, elevation, stretching or massage, please consider booking a treatment with us. If physio and soft tissue work does not help, we can discuss with you the option of bringing out “the big gun,” shockwave!

I’ve used Grosvenor for physio, acupuncture and podiatrist services on a number of occasions over the years for myself and my sporty kids and always been really pleased with the results. Friendly, approachable and importantly provided good advice that fixed the problems we presented with. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or return if required.

Had treatment with Jo following replacement knee surgery and this was excellent. Had no hesitation returning a couple of years later for a back problem and again I cannot fault their service.

I had four sessions of physio and acupuncture with Jo who then suggested I might benefit from seeing her colleague Louise for some clinical massage. The treatments I have received at the Grosvenor Clinic have meant my neck has been pain free for the first time in a number of years. All of the staff are so friendly and explain everything that is happening so you have confidence in all aspects of your treatment.

I have visited the clinic three times now for an extremely painful trapped nerve, when I first called up in a panic they accommodated me very last minute and got me treated and rebooked for acupuncture with Jo and I can’t thank her enough! The relief I have had since being to the clinic is amazing. Can’t recommend enough!
