Lou, we salute you: our therapist qualifies in MLD
Congratulations to Louise on the completion of her MLD (Manual Lymphatic Drainage) qualification. After long and intensive training, leading to challenging exams both practical and theoretical, Louise has passed to qualify in the Dr. Vodder School of MLD, which is considered to be at the very top of that particular tree.
Very briefly, among many benefits, MLD can promote healing, aid detoxing, improve chronic conditions and relieve fluid congestion.
As Louise is already vastly skilled in many massage techniques, this qualification in some ways
represents the icing on the cake for her. “We are so proud of Louise,” says Jo Sealey. “We know how hard she has worked for this – the time, effort and commitment it has taken.”
As MLD can help many people with a wide range of issues, Louise is looking forward to the future: “I am delighted to be able to develop my clinical massage skills in this direction, to be able to help a wider group of people.”
We will be adding Lou’s MLD service to our portfolio of offerings in the near future, so please do
watch out for announcements.

Continuous professional development: always trying to learn more
The world of physiotherapy is constantly expanding its knowledgebase, and here at Grosvenor we do our best to keep up! To that end, two of our senior staff are attending events in the near future to enhance their expertise.
Jo Sealey is attending the Versorium Spine Conference in Brighton on 18th August, and Lindsey
Wimshurst is giving a talk at the Informed Pregnancy Birth and Beyond event at the Ashcroft Arts
Centre in Fareham on 9th September.
Lindsey would be especially delighted to see you at her talk, or indeed to discuss any issues with you, around women’s health and pregnancy in general and pelvic floor in particular.
NEW BOOK – one of the lovely people who works with us at Grosvenor has written a book. It is
about running, fitness and goal-setting. It is called The Run of Life and there is more information at therunoflife.com. Rumour has it that, if you buy a copy and leave it with us, the author will sign it
for you!
Keeping the kids entertained: it’s not child’s play
We know that there’s no easy solution to keeping your children or grandchildren amused during the long summer holiday, but some new ideas that have crossed our radar recently include:
Every breath you take: teachers have found that leading their class in a controlled breathing session after lunch each day results in a much calmer atmosphere all round.
Ch-ch-changes: the summer is of course an opportunity for us all to try new activities, not least your children. Why not encourage them to experience a new sport or game this year?
Bringing it all back home: if you would normally, say, do a Pilates class on a Tuesday morning, but during the summer you can’t because of looking after the kids, how about doing a quick 10 minutes Pilates routine with them instead? They may just be fascinated by what you get up to when they are at school.
There are two example videos on our website – on restorative yoga and Pilates.
I attended the clinic at 28 weeks pregnant after suffering with my back - Lindsey was so so helpful, informative and made me feel completely comfortable. Would highly recommend.

I’ve used Grosvenor for physio, acupuncture and podiatrist services on a number of occasions over the years for myself and my sporty kids and always been really pleased with the results. Friendly, approachable and importantly provided good advice that fixed the problems we presented with. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or return if required.

Had treatment with Jo following replacement knee surgery and this was excellent. Had no hesitation returning a couple of years later for a back problem and again I cannot fault their service.

Grosvenor was recommend to me when I was having some back issues. Felt at ease as soon as I walked in. Friendly, professional service who really listened and provided a plan to help. Really happy with the results of my treatment plan meant I could get back to the things I enjoy. Would highly recommend

A very thorough first appointment where the problem identified.
A very pleasant experience throughout.

I had four sessions of physio and acupuncture with Jo who then suggested I might benefit from seeing her colleague Louise for some clinical massage.
The treatments I have received at the Grosvenor Clinic have meant my neck has been pain free for the first time in a number of years.
All of the staff are so friendly and explain everything that is happening so you have confidence in all aspects of your treatment.

I have visited the clinic three times now for an extremely painful trapped nerve, when I first called up in a panic they accommodated me very last minute and got me treated and rebooked for acupuncture with Jo and I can’t thank her enough! The relief I have had since being to the clinic is amazing. Can’t recommend enough!
